“When I was promoted to Account Manager at Stillwater, I wanted to seek out any and all ways to get involved and grow both personally and professionally,” Kristina said. “Asa military spouse, I recognize the importance of AFCEA’s mission to connect government and industry in order to meet the needs of service members. When I heard about AFCEA’s young professionals program I thought it was the perfect opportunity”

Studies show that networking is vital in any career, and this is especially true for young professionals. 95% of professionals say that in-person communication is vital to meeting long-term business and career goals*.

“I think what really helps professionals excel in their careers are the mentoring opportunities within their professional networks and communities,” said Kristina. “I look forward to learning from senior leadership and meeting other bright young AFCEANs who are eager to grow in their respective fields.”

AFCEA also values higher education and gives its members an opportunity to play a part in making a difference in students’ lives.

“Growing up in a single parent household, college was always a heavy risk to take financially,” said Kristina. “Without scholarship opportunities I would not have had the opportunity to get my bachelor’s degree.Because of this I look forward to helping raise scholarship money with my AFCEANorthern Virginia chapter.”
